Care and claensing with olive oil soap is very widespread in the Mediterranean region and has a long tradition there. Green Aleppo Soap is also known as Aleppo House Style. In the past families made these themselves for their own use, using mainly extra virgin olive oil. Although it has been passed down through generations now only a few people have the knowledge to making this soap.
The soap is a descendant of the soap from Syria and was brought to life before 1000 BC. Between the Tigris and the Euphrates, in Mesopotamia in Aleppo, the city of soap, it is produced traditionally. The olive oil is poured in a large kettle, mixed with spring water and transforms into soap. After cooling the raw mass, the soap is cut into pieces by hand on the ground. The soap bars are then neatly stacked and air-dried for 6 months to reach their true maturity. This special soap is boiled only once a year after the olive harvest in October.
Special properties: The olive oil nourishes and soothes the skin, prevents dry skin and hands, the oil expands pores and has a deep-cleansing effect. The soap also contains a disinfecting laurel oil (20%). It is environmentally friendly, biodegradable, contains no perfume, no preservatives or animal fats. The soap has high yield benefits, is hypoallergenic (important for atopic dermatitis patients) and especially suitable for very dry sensitive skin.
