The hand-woven Pestemal is a Turkish cotton cloth that originates from the traditional oriental bathing culture, the hammam. The concept of these originally public baths is to relax and purify the body and mind through the steam bath. Several rooms are traversed in order to slowly get used to very high temperatures and high humidity. This is followed by a special massage with a rough cloth or glove, called Kese. The hammam cloth is stylish, absorbent and dries quickly. Due to its small volume and weight, it is also the perfect travel companion and can also be used as a hand, bath and sauna towel.
